Lewandowski and Yamal fire Barcelona past Osasuna into Super Cup final

The contest in the Saudi capital got off to an intense start, with the competition's most successful team facing off against a Los Rojillos side eager to secure their first major trophy.

Both teams had early opportunities, with Frenkie de Jong setting up Ferran Torres, who unfortunately missed the target. On the other end, Jesus Areso's attempt also narrowly missed.

Ilkay Gundogan was determined to make an impact for Barca and played a pass to Robert Lewandowski, but Sergio Herrera made a great save to deny him.

Gundogan and Lewandowski combined again, but the Poland captain couldn't test Herrera with his header from Gundogan's cross.

Ante Budimir, who had struggled to score against Barcelona in the past, came close to breaking his drought after receiving a pass from Areso, but Inaki Pena thwarted his effort. The teams went into halftime level, with Xavi making a substitution due to Raphinha's injury.

Barcelona eventually broke the deadlock through Lewandowski, who scored his 11th goal of the season by converting Gundogan's pass with clinical precision.

A VAR review examined a challenge by Andreas Christensen on Jose Manuel Arnaiz in the build-up to the goal, but the contact seemed minimal, and Lewandowski's goal rightfully stood.

Herrera made an excellent save to deny Joao Felix and prevent Barcelona from scoring a second goal. On the other hand, Osasuna had few chances, but Budimir managed to get past the Barca defense, only to be stopped by Pena.

In stoppage time, Lamine Yamal added to the scoreline with a left-footed strike, brilliantly set up by Felix, that slipped past Herrera.
