Lillard's 37 Points Lead Bucks to 128-112 Win Over Raptors Despite Antetokounmpo's Absence

Damian Lillard delivered a stellar performance, scoring 37 points and achieving a season-high 13 assists, seizing the opportunity created by Giannis Antetokounmpo's absence. Lillard acknowledged the increased responsibility in Giannis's absence, expressing his intent to be more aggressive in both playmaking and scoring.

Antetokounmpo, sidelined due to a strained right calf, missed his first game of the season after an impressive 35-point performance in the previous game. The Bucks, led by Bobby Portis with 18 points and Cameron Payne with 13, capitalized on Lillard's prowess and concluded the game with an impressive 20 made 3-pointers.

Lillard's 9-for-18 shooting and 15-of-16 successful free throws underscored his dominance, earning praise from Milwaukee's Brook Lopez. Malik Beasley also stood out with a season-high 30 points, impressing Bucks coach Adrian Griffin with his timely shots.

Milwaukee avenged a prior loss to Toronto, with Lillard, in his second game back from a calf injury, taking early control of the game. The Bucks' 20-for-39 shooting from long range matched a season-high for made 3-pointers.

Despite a strong performance by Toronto's Scottie Barnes, who scored 29 points, the Raptors fell behind by over 20 points for the second consecutive game. O.G. Anunoby's absence and Gary Trent Jr.'s injury further challenged Toronto, and rookie Gradey Dick made his first start, joining the ranks of McGrady and Bosh as teenage starters for the Raptors.

The Bucks are set to face the Charlotte Hornets in an In-Season Tournament game, while the Raptors kick off tournament play against the Boston Celtics.
