Lille 1-3 Paris Saint-Germain: PSG pass Lille test to maintain perfect start

Paris Saint-Germain continued their flawless start to the new season by defeating Lille 3-1 at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, thereby extending their impressive unbeaten away streak in Ligue 1 to 26 matches.
Last season, Lille was the most successful team at home in Ligue 1, suffering only one defeat in their last 15 home league encounters. However, they had not triumphed in any of their previous six league meetings against PSG. Luis Enrique's squad quickly took control of the match, with Ousmane Dembele being thwarted twice by goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier in the early moments.
The hosts nearly capitalized on these saves when Edon Zhegrova's cutback found Bafode Diakite in the penalty area, but the defender's shot struck the post. After weathering that close call, PSG opened the scoring from the penalty spot. A reckless challenge by Alexsandro on Dembele inside the area compelled the referee to award a penalty, which Vitinha converted effortlessly from 12 yards.
Just three minutes after taking the lead, PSG doubled their advantage. The champions executed a swift counterattack, allowing Marco Asensio to assist Bradley Barcola, who skillfully curled the ball into the net, presenting Lille with a significant challenge to recover.
Although Lille appeared more assertive after halftime, PSG remained the more threatening side. Chevalier continued to rescue his defense, making a quick reflex save with his leg to deny Asensio and subsequently clearing Barcola's weak attempt.
The introduction of Jonathan David and former PSG player Thomas Meunier shifted the momentum in Lille's favor, and their pressure eventually paid off when Zhegrova struck a low shot into the bottom corner from distance, reducing the deficit for the hosts.
This created an exhilarating conclusion, and just four minutes after leveling the score, Lille believed they had taken the lead through Tiago Santos; however, their joy was swiftly diminished by the offside flag.
This moment turned out to be a mere illusion of hope as PSG fortified their defense, ultimately sealing the match with Randal Kolo Muani's third goal during stoppage time.
Desire Doue's relentless effort to regain possession paid off when his cross was headed in by Kolo Muani, ensuring a victory that marked their sixth occasion in ten seasons of winning their first three league matches.
