Liverpool were held to a 0-0 draw by Manchester United at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday, ending their perfect home record this season and denying them the chance to reclaim first place.

Juergen Klopp's side had been knocked out of first place earlier in the day by Arsenal and would have reclaimed the top spot with a win but lacked their usual goal threat.

United, depleted of confidence after a bad week, hung on for a point, despite having scored just once in their last eight visits to Liverpool.

The hosts' best chance came from a Trent Alexander-Arnold shot that grazed the post, while Rasmus Hojlund had United's best chance.

After Diogo Dalot was sent off in stoppage time for two yellow cards, both for dissent, the visitors finished with 10 men.

Liverpool are second in the table with 38 points from 17 games, while Arsenal are first with 39, and Manchester United are seventh with 28.
