Liverpool 3-0 Bournemouth: Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez on scoresheet as Reds cruise to win over Cherries

A rapid brace from Luis Diaz propelled Liverpool to a decisive 3-0 victory over Bournemouth in their Premier League match on Saturday, allowing the Reds to recover from the previous week's disappointing 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Diaz showcased his exceptional skills in the first half, effectively masking Liverpool's defensive weaknesses with a dynamic performance from the left flank that overwhelmed the opposition, rendering the match largely settled by halftime.

Arne Slot's team benefited from VAR intervention, which disallowed an early goal from Antoine Semenyo due to offside, transforming the anxious murmurs of the home crowd into cheers of relief as the goal was annulled.

The dynamic Diaz quickly made his mark, compelling goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga to execute a remarkable save in the eighth minute, and he continued to pose a threat before finally scoring in the 26th minute, capitalizing on a long ball to find the net.

Just under three minutes later, Diaz netted his second goal, exploiting a five-on-four counterattack to skillfully maneuver the ball through Kepa's legs, marking his fifth goal in as many league matches.

Darwin Nunez then contributed a stunning third goal, advancing down the right flank, momentarily slowing his pace before swiftly accelerating to cut inside and curl a left-footed shot into the net, extending the lead to 3-0.

With the outcome beyond the visitors' reach, the second half saw little of significance, aside from the Premier League debut of Liverpool's Enrico Chiesa, who came off the bench and showcased the talent that led the Merseysiders to invest a reported 10 million pounds ($13.32 million) in him from Juventus.

Although Liverpool exhibited significant offensive strength, they occasionally appeared susceptible defensively.

Goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher was required to intervene after the ball struck the crossbar following a late corner. However, Bournemouth was unable to regain their footing in the match, allowing the hosts to secure a comfortable victory.
