Carl Erskine passed away on Tuesday at the age of 97 at his residence in Anderson, Indiana after relocating from Brooklyn to Los Angeles with the Dodgers.

The passing of Erskine, a prominent figure in baseball history, was reported by The Indianapolis Star. He had a successful career with the Dodgers, appearing in numerous games and achieving impressive records.

Notably, he won 20 games in 1953 and was selected as an All-Star the following year.

Throughout his career, he threw over 1,700 innings, recorded 71 complete games, and achieved 14 shutouts.

Erskine's accomplishments also included pitching two no-hitters, one against the Chicago Cubs in 1952 and another against the New York Giants in 1956, which was the first televised no-hitter.

He participated in five World Series with the Dodgers, ultimately winning the championship in 1955.
