Manchester City will win the League again this season - Pep Guardiola

With a win away at Villa Park, the champions can go top of the table, behind current leaders Arsenal. Arsenal, who are leading the league, have the opportunity to extend their lead to five points with a victory against lowly Luton Town on Tuesday.

Guardiola expressed his belief that Manchester City will win the Premier League during a press conference before their upcoming match against Aston Villa, who are currently in fourth place under Unai Emery.

He stated, "If we perform at the same level as Liverpool or Tottenham, we will achieve our goal once again. Despite three draws, people may doubt us, but we are determined to succeed. We understand that it won't be easy, as no team has ever won four consecutive Premier League titles, which is why the challenge is so great."

City recently had a 3-3 draw against Tottenham at home, following a 1-1 draw with Liverpool and an exciting 4-4 result against Chelsea. Guardiola acknowledged concerns about the goals conceded but pointed out that the statistics are comparable to last season when City achieved a treble of Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup victories.

He added, "Apart from the Chelsea game, the average number of chances conceded is lower compared to previous seasons when we won numerous titles."

Guardiola also mentioned that John Stones, City's English defender, is ready to play after recovering from an injury. He may potentially fill in as a holding midfielder in the absence of the suspended Rodri. Additionally, Jeremy Doku is undergoing a fitness test.

City will also be without Jack Grealish, who is suspended for the match against Aston Villa. Villa has an impressive record of winning their last 13 home league games.

Guardiola expressed his admiration for fellow Spaniard Unai Emery, stating, "Whenever he leaves a team, they improve in all aspects, including results, player performance, and tactical strategies. His ability to control high presses, deep plays, set pieces, and transitions is exceptional."

He acknowledged the challenge that Aston Villa poses, particularly their strong form this season, both at home and away. Guardiola emphasized that City was aware of this challenge before and remains aware of it now.
