Manchester United 0-3 Bournemouth: Tavernier shines as visitors claim first win at Old Trafford

Before arriving at Old Trafford, Bournemouth had lost nine out of their last 10 away matches against the hosts (with one draw), made a strong start by taking the lead within the first five minutes.

By pressing high up the pitch, the Cherries managed to win the ball in the opposition half, leading to Lewis Cook delivering a low cross into the box. Dominic Solanke was perfectly positioned to slot the ball into the far corner.

Despite falling behind, Erik ten Hag's team responded well. Harry Maguire, who was named the Premier League Player of the Month for November, forced a fingertip save from Neto with a looping header, showcasing his skills.

United's response did not deter the Cherries, who thought they had scored a second goal when Marcus Tavernier poked home the rebound after Solanke's initial shot was saved by André Onana. However, the goal was disallowed for offside.

As the first half progressed, United's attempts to make a comeback were put on hold. Ilya Zabarnyi's header was cleared off the line by Diogo Dalot, and Solanke hit the post with Onana beaten.

During the half-time team talk, Ten Hag clearly motivated his players, as the Red Devils came out strong in the second half, launching wave after wave of attacks on the Bournemouth box.

The visitors displayed excellent defensive skills, preventing the home side from finding an equalizer. Milos Kerkez exemplified this with his brave block on Scott McTominay's shot, followed by denying Bruno Fernandes' rebound.

Both managers made substitutions in an attempt to change the game. Danish internationals Rasmus Højlund and Phillip Billing were brought on just before the hour mark.

It was Billing who proved his worth, as he scored a powerful header at the far post, doubling Bournemouth's lead.

Five minutes later, the Cherries found themselves in dreamland as United's collapse allowed them to score a third goal. Marcos Senesi headed home Tavernier's corner, sealing the victory for Bournemouth.
