Manchester United 2-2 Tottenham: Spurs fight back twice to draw at Old Trafford; miss chance to enter Top four

Manchester United were held to a 2-2 Premier League draw by Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Sunday, a disappointing result for Erik ten Hag's team, who twice led but were pegged back by the visitors' aggressive performance.
Richarlison cancelled out Rasmus Hojlund's early opener, and Rodrigo Bentancur levelled for Spurs after Marcus Rashford put United ahead again.
Spurs, who were hit hard by illness this week, remained fifth in the table, level on 40 points with fourth-placed Arsenal despite having played one more game.
United moved up one spot to seventh, but remain eight points behind the top four.
United got off to a strong start with a goal from Hojlund in the third minute. The 20-year-old scored his second goal in as many home games with a powerful left-footed shot into the top corner.
Richarlison took advantage of United's poor marking to head in the equaliser from a corner in the 19th minute.
Rashford put United back ahead just before halftime with a quick one-two with Hojlund, his fourth goal of the season and first at home.
Bentancur cancelled Rashford's goal less than a minute after the break, taking a pass from debutant Timo Werner and shooting past goalkeeper Andre Onana.
Scott McTominay nearly scored seconds before the final whistle, but his header from Alejandro Garnacho's pinpoint cross went just over the crossbar.
United were able to postpone goalkeeper Onana's trip to the Africa Cup of Nations so that he could play on Sunday. The Cameroonian was scheduled to fly to the Ivory Coast on a private plane immediately following the match.
Lisandro Martinez returned for the first time since their Champions League game against Bayern Munich on September 20th, which was good news for the injury-plagued United team.
British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe, who agreed to take a minority stake in Manchester United last month, attended the game and was seen speaking with United's former manager, Alex Ferguson, who was seated next to him.
