Manchester United complete signing of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig

Manchester United have confirmed the signing of 22-year-old forward Benjamin Šeško from RB Leipzig on a five-year contract, in a deal reportedly worth up to £74 million (€85 million, $99 million). The move completes a major revamp of the Red Devils’ attacking options after a lacklustre 2024-25 season in front of goal.
According to reports, United will pay £66.3 million guaranteed, with the remainder in performance-based add-ons. Šeško becomes United’s third big-name attacking recruit of the summer following the arrivals of Matheus Cunha (£62.5m) and Bryan Mbeumo (£65m plus £6m in add-ons).

“The history of Manchester United is obviously very special, but what really excites me is the future,” Šeško said in his first interview with the club. “From the moment I arrived, I could feel the positive energy and family environment. It is clearly the perfect place to reach my maximum level and fulfil all my ambitions.”
Šeško, who has netted 16 goals in 41 senior international appearances for Slovenia, was also linked with Newcastle United. However, despite offering European football, Eddie Howe’s side once again missed out on their top attacking target.
The forward will now join forces with head coach Ruben Amorim as United aim to bounce back and compete for major trophies. “I cannot wait to start learning from Ruben and connecting with my team-mates to achieve the success that we all know we are capable of together,” Šeško added.
