Manchester United confirm signings of Bayern duo De Ligt and Mazraoui

Manchester United has officially acquired Dutch center-back Matthijs de Ligt (25) and Moroccan full-back Noussair Mazraoui (26) from Bayern Munich, as announced by the Premier League club on Tuesday. De Ligt's contract extends until June 2029, while Mazraoui's will last until June 2028.
Although the financial specifics were not revealed by either club, reports from British media suggest that the total transfer fee for both players exceed 50 million pounds ($64.32 million).
The contracts include an option for an additional year for both athletes, according to United's statement.
Both players began their youth careers at Ajax Amsterdam and subsequently played under the current United manager, Erik ten Hag, in the senior team.
De Ligt, aged 25, achieved significant success, winning the Eredivisie with Ajax in the 2018-19 season, the Serie A title with Juventus in 2019-20, and the Bundesliga with Bayern in the 2022-23 season.
"Erik ten Hag was instrumental in the early part of my career, so he understands how to maximize my potential, and I am eager to collaborate with him once more," De Ligt remarked in a statement.
"I am aware of what it takes to excel at the highest level, and I am committed to maintaining that standard at this remarkable club."
Mazraoui, 26, transferred to Bayern from Ajax in 2022, making 55 appearances in all competitions and securing the Bundesliga and DFL-Supercup titles in his inaugural season, despite facing a brief injury setback last year.
"Erik ten Hag significantly influenced my growth as a player, making it thrilling to reunite with him as I approach the peak of my career," Mazraoui stated.
"I understand his expectations for his players, and I will dedicate myself fully to ensuring the team's success."
