Manchester United in Talks with Ruben Amorim for Managerial Position

Following Erik ten Hag's dismissal after Manchester United’s poor start to the season, reports suggest that Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim, currently with Sporting Lisbon, is in advanced discussions to take over as United’s new manager. The 39-year-old is highly regarded for his achievements in Europe, particularly for guiding Sporting to their first league title in 19 years in 2021 and securing another title with the club last season.

Amorim, one of Europe’s most promising young coaches, has been linked to several high-profile roles, including Liverpool’s, which ultimately went to Dutch coach Arne Slot. Previously, Amorim was also considered for the West Ham job, before eventually choosing to remain in Portugal. Now, with Manchester United under the interim management of Ruud van Nistelrooy, the club is looking to solidify Amorim’s appointment, aiming to turn around a challenging season that has left them 14th in the Premier League after recent losses.

If finalized, Amorim will face the task of revitalizing a squad struggling for form and consistency, aiming to restore the Red Devils’ status in the Premier League and beyond.
