Mbappe scores hat-trick as PSG ease pass Reims

Paris Saint-Germain showcased their dominance in Ligue 1, extending their winning streak to five games by securing a convincing 3-0 victory against Stade Reims on the road.

Rebounding from their previous defeat against AC Milan, PSG initiated the match with a flawless start, as Kylian Mbappe brilliantly connected with Ousmane Dembele's precise cross, slotting a volley into the bottom corner.

Mbappe's influence remained pivotal throughout, contributing directly to PSG's last six league goals at the Stade Auguste Delaune.

Despite Reims' attempt to equalize with Junya Ito's seemingly valid finish, the goal was disallowed for offside, setting the tone for a first half where the hosts gained confidence.

Ito emerged as a standout for Reims, testing Gianluigi Donnarumma with two well-executed free kicks. Although a scare from Azor Matusiwa challenged Donnarumma, the defensive midfielder, with only one senior goal in his career, failed to convert the opportunity.

Donnarumma showcased his brilliance by making a spectacular save from Amir Richardson's powerful strike.

The lack of goals for Reims in the first half proved costly, as Mbappe seized the opportunity in the second half, scoring his second just before the hour mark from Carlos Soler's assist.

Mbappe completed his hat-trick with a clinical first-time finish from Bradley Barcola's cut-back, highlighting Ligue 1's leading scorer's prowess.

Despite a near fourth goal denied by the crossbar, Reims learned a harsh lesson in finishing from Mbappe, paying the price for their missed opportunities in front of goal.
