McCaffrey, 49ers roll past Seahawks on Thanksgiving night

The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Seattle Seahawks 31-13 on Thursday night, with Christian McCaffrey rushing for 114 yards and two touchdowns.

Wide receiver Deebo Samuel also scored on the ground for the 49ers, who now lead the NFC West by two games over the Seahawks. Samuel also had seven catches for 79 yards, a game-high.

San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy completed 21 of 30 passes for 209 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Geno Smith of Seattle was 18 of 27 for 180 yards with one interception and no touchdowns. The 49ers had six sacks, a season high.

With Kenneth Walker III out with an oblique injury, rookie running back Zach Charbonnet led the Seahawks with 47 yards on 14 carries and four receptions for 11 yards.

Samuel scored on a 2-yard run to cap the game's first possession, a nine-play, 71-yard march.

Dee Eskridge returned the ensuing kickoff 66 yards for Seattle, but the Seahawks only managed 1 yard before settling for Jason Myers' 51-yard field goal.

McCaffrey scored from one yard out in the second quarter and then dragged several defenders over the goal line with 5:11 left in the half.

After Seattle's DeeJay Dallas muffed a punt, Jake Moody kicked a 32-yard field goal with 39 seconds left in the half as the 49ers built a 24-3 lead at halftime.

The Seahawks had just one first down and 11 yards total offense before Smith drove them into field-goal range in the final seconds of the half. Myers' 53-yard attempt, on the other hand, faded just right.

Jordyn Brooks intercepted a tipped pass and returned it 12 yards for a touchdown to give Seattle a boost early in the third quarter.

On the Seahawks' next drive, Myers added a 30-yard field goal to make it 24-13, but Seattle couldn't get any closer.

Purdy's 28-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Aiyuk with 7:51 remaining put an end to any hopes of a comeback.
