Memphis Grizzlies' Ja Morant to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery

The 24-year-old player experienced a subluxation in his right shoulder during a training session on Saturday, and further examination through an MRI revealed a labral tear.

The team has announced that Morant will undergo surgery, ending his season. However, they are optimistic about his recovery and expect him to be fully ready for the 2024-25 season.

Earlier in the season, Morant faced a suspension without pay from the NBA for 25 games. This was due to an incident where he displayed a firearm in a car during a live-streamed video.

Upon his return, Morant made a significant impact on the court. The Grizzlies won four consecutive games, and he was recognized as the Western Conference Player of the Week in his first week back.

Throughout the season, Morant showcased his skills, averaging 25.1 points and 8.1 assists in the nine games he played for the Grizzlies.

Despite his contributions, Memphis currently holds a record of 13-23 and sits in the 13th position in the Western Conference standings.
