Messi and Suarez both score as Inter Miami are beaten in friendly with Al Hilal

On Monday, Inter Miami's Luis Suarez secured his first goal for the team, while Lionel Messi successfully converted a penalty. However, their efforts were in vain as Al Hilal, a team from the Saudi Pro League, emerged victorious with a 4-3 win in Riyadh.
In an exciting friendly match at the Kingdom Arena, Brazilian forward Malcom scored a crucial header in the 88th minute to secure victory for his team. Miami had fought back from a 3-1 deficit early in the second half to level the score at 3-3.
This match was part of Miami's pre-season tour, as they prepare for the upcoming Major League Soccer season starting on February 21st.
The game started with Al Hilal taking the lead in the 10th minute, thanks to former Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic's composed finish. He skillfully side-footed the ball past Miami goalkeeper Drake Callender after a well-executed team move that exposed Miami's defense.
Just three minutes later, Saudi international forward Abdullah Al-Hamdan capitalized on a defensive error by Miami's Noah Allen to make it 2-0 for Al Hilal.
Miami had a chance to pull a goal back in the 26th minute when Sergio Busquets had a clear opportunity, but he unfortunately volleyed over the crossbar from close range, missing a golden chance to score against Al Hilal goalkeeper Hbib Alwotayan.
However, Miami's persistence paid off in the 34th minute. A perfectly lofted pass from Jordi Alba caught Al Hilal's defense off guard, allowing Julian Gressel to slide the ball into the path of Suarez, who calmly finished into an empty net at the far post. Initially ruled offside, the goal was eventually awarded after a VAR check.
Just before half-time, Al Hilal extended their lead to 3-1. Al-Hamdan delivered a cross into the box, and Brazilian forward Michael headed the ball home as Callender rushed off his line.
Overall, it was an entertaining match with Miami showing resilience to fight back, but ultimately, Malcom's late header sealed the victory for his team.
Miami displayed a strong response after halftime, quickly equalizing with two goals in just two minutes. In the 54th minute, Messi successfully converted a penalty kick to make it 3-2, following a controversial foul on David Ruiz by Mohammed Jahfali in the penalty area.
Taking advantage of Al Hilal's disarray after the penalty, Miami swiftly leveled the score. Messi skillfully delivered a long pass to Ruiz, who skillfully cut in from the left and unleashed a powerful strike, resulting in a 3-3 tie.
Although the game appeared to be heading towards a draw, Malcolm secured the victory with a header in the final two minutes.
Next, Miami will face Al-Nassr, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, in their second friendly match in Saudi Arabia on Thursday. Following that, they will travel to Asia for games in Hong Kong and Japan.
