Michel breathes a sigh of relief as Girona edge out Getafe

Girona's manager, Michel, praised his team's determination following their hard-earned 1-0 victory over Getafe in LaLiga on Sunday.
Despite having limited opportunities, they capitalized on one of only two shots on target while the home side squandered multiple chances.
Throughout much of the match, Getafe appeared to be the stronger team, yet Yangel Herrera's impressive header in the first half secured the win for Girona, who were without 12 first-team players due to injuries.
"Clearly, today's performance was not our finest, and it was evident to all, but we must commend the boys for their defensive efforts," Michel remarked to DAZN.
"They attempted numerous crosses, registering eight shots, and we managed to keep most of them off target, which reflects excellent defending. With our sole genuine opportunity resulting in a goal, we anticipated a challenging match.
"They are a team that applies pressure effectively, having done so against all opponents, which is why they remained unbeaten at home. We have been highly competitive, as is necessary to achieve victory here."
This win marked Girona's first consecutive league victories in over two months, following a 4-0 defeat to PSV Eindhoven, their third loss in four Champions League encounters, earlier in the week.
Michel expressed hope that the upcoming two-week international break would allow for the return of key players from injury, including Abel Ruiz, Arnaut Danjuma, Viktor Tsygankov, and Yaser Asprilla, among others.
"This is our current situation, which makes these three points extremely valuable. Given the team's condition, we need to rest and recover some of our players," Michel stated.
"I am optimistic that after the international break, we will have, fingers crossed, more players available, and securing a positive result today was crucial."
