Milik strike sends Juventus into Coppa Italia final despite loss to Lazio

Juventus secured their place in the Coppa Italia final thanks to a sensational performance from Arkadiusz Milik. The 30-year-old striker, who came off the bench, scored a late goal that proved to be the decider. Despite Taty Castellanos' impressive brace for Lazio, it was not enough to overcome the two-goal deficit from the first leg.
Lazio, led by Igor Tudor, were determined to make a comeback and reach the final after their victory in 2019. With the support of their passionate fans at the Stadio Olimpico, they took an early lead, with Castellanos rising above Alex Sandro to head home a corner from Luis Alberto.
Juventus, the most successful team in Italian domestic cups, had a chance to equalize just 10 minutes later. However, Dusan Vlahovic failed to make strong enough contact with Federico Chiesa's pass, and Christos Mandas made a crucial save.
Both teams had their opportunities to score, with Bremer heading over from a corner for Lazio and Castellanos coming close to leveling the tie before halftime. But it was in the second half that Castellanos truly shone, beating the offside trap and displaying great strength to hold off defenders before calmly slotting the ball past Mattia Perin.
In the end, it was Milik who stole the show with his late goal, securing Juventus' place in the final. Despite Castellanos' impressive performance, his efforts were in vain as Lazio fell short of reaching the final.
In the midst of an exhilarating match, a couple of extraordinary moments unfolded during the second period. Ten minutes in, Adam Marusic displayed heroism with a remarkable goal-line clearance, only for Vlahovic to miss the target with a shot just a minute later. Castellanos, on the other hand, was denied by Perin after skillfully evading the Juve defense, although he was ultimately ruled offside. This ruling may have brought relief to the Argentinian forward, as he could have done better with his finish.
As Lazio introduced their club captain Immobile into the game, it was a brilliant substitution made by Massimiliano Allegri that ultimately secured the victory for Juventus. Milik, who had only been on the field for less than a minute, made an instant impact by converting Timothy Weah's cutback from close range in the 83rd minute.
Despite losing the match, Juventus advances to their 22nd Coppa final, extending their record. They will return to the Eternal City on May 15th for the grand finale against the winner of tomorrow night's second semi-final between Atalanta and Fiorentina.
