Minnesota Timberwolves beat Charlotte Hornets 123-117

Despite Charlotte holding a four-point lead with 4:53 left, Towns and Gobert orchestrated a pivotal 13-3 surge, propelling the Timberwolves to a 115-109 advantage with 2:02 remaining. Gobert, initially listed as questionable with a hip injury, surpassed expectations, earning praise from Towns for his exceptional performance while battling pain.

Minnesota, now boasting a Western Conference-leading record of 15-4, witnessed notable contributions from Naz Reid (23 points) and Mike Conley (14 points, 10 assists). The Timberwolves dominated early, establishing a 12-point lead in the first quarter, but Charlotte narrowed the gap to 88-87 by the end of the third quarter.

Despite challenges, including Towns facing foul trouble in the second quarter, the Timberwolves seamlessly adjusted with Reid making a significant impact off the bench, as acknowledged by coach Chris Finch.

On the Hornets' side, Terry Rozier (23 points) and Miles Bridges (22 points) delivered notable performances. Hornets coach Steve Clifford expressed frustration with the officiating, citing perceived disparities in foul calls against the formidable duo of Towns and Gobert.

Despite this, Clifford acknowledged broader issues contributing to their loss, emphasizing the team's need for increased physicality, rebounding effort, and foul discipline.

Looking ahead, the Timberwolves are set to host San Antonio on Wednesday, while the Hornets will face Chicago on the same day.
