MLB roundup: Aaron Judge's 300th homer boosts Yanks to win over White Sox

Aaron Judge (32) launched a three-run home run in the eighth inning, making him the fastest player in Major League Baseball history to achieve 300 career home runs. This significant milestone contributed to the New York Yankees' decisive 10-2 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday.

Judge accomplished this feat in his 955th regular-season game, occurring just one day after the eighth anniversary of his Major League debut. He surpassed the previous record held by Hall of Famer Ralph Kiner, who reached 300 home runs in his 1,087th game.

With this achievement, Judge became the 162nd player in history to hit 300 home runs and the 17th player to do so while playing for the Yankees.

Gavin Sheets recorded his first home run since June 8 and added an RBI single, but the White Sox were unable to secure a series win. Chicago's last series victory occurred when they won two out of three games against the Colorado Rockies from June 28-30.

In another matchup, the Reds triumphed over the Cardinals with a score of 9-2. Jonathan India and TJ Friedl each contributed two home runs, aiding Cincinnati in completing a three-game sweep of St. Louis.

Tyler Stephenson also added a home run for the Reds, who have now won four consecutive games and outscored the Cardinals 19-4 throughout the series. In the finale, India recorded three hits and four RBIs.

For St. Louis, Masyn Winn, Willson Contreras, and Brendan Donovan each had two hits, but the team suffered its fourth consecutive loss, falling below .500 for the first time since June 19.

Paul DeJong achieved a remarkable performance, going 3-for-3 with a double and a solo home run, leading Kansas City to a decisive victory over Minnesota in Minneapolis. Bobby Witt Jr. contributed significantly, finishing 2-for-4 with a solo home run, helping the Royals avoid a three-game sweep by securing the final game of the series.

Additionally, both Kyle Isbel and Vinnie Pasquantino added one run each to the scoreboard. For the Twins, Carlos Santana managed to hit a solo home run, accounting for their only run in the game.

Gunnar Henderson made an impactful start for Baltimore, hitting a two-run home run in the first inning, which propelled the team to a victory over the visiting Washington Nationals, thus splitting the two-game series.

Orioles pitcher Dean Kremer (5-9) delivered a solid performance, pitching six innings and allowing just one run on five hits. Seranthony Dominguez closed the game in the ninth inning, earning his third save of the season, and his second since joining the Orioles.

Nationals starter DJ Herz (2-5) allowed two runs on four hits over six innings, while Alex Call contributed two of Washington's five hits, including an RBI double.
