Trailing 5-4, the Blue Jays had two runners on base with no outs, prompting the Brewers to bring in closer Trevor Megill. Blue Jays' pinch hitter Vladmir Guerrero Jr. flew out to center field for the final out, earning Megill his 11th save of the season.
Milwaukee's Tobias Myers (3-2) pitched six innings of one-run ball. Toronto reliever Zach Pop (0-1) suffered the loss after giving up three runs in two-thirds of an inning.
Austin Slater recorded a trio of hits and drove in two runs from the leadoff position, while Logan Webb outperformed Framber Valdez, leading the San Francisco Giants to a victory over the Houston Astros in the final game of their three-game series.
Following two low-scoring matchups that resulted in a split, the Giants found their offensive rhythm against Valdez (5-4). They managed to score five runs off him in just four innings, establishing a comfortable 5-1 lead that they maintained until the end.
Webb (6-5) allowed three runs over six innings, showcasing his pitching prowess. In the ninth inning, Camilo Doval delivered a flawless performance, securing his 12th save of the season.
