MLB roundup: Judge's historic three-homer game leads Yankees to record-setting win over Brewers

Aaron Judge had a career day at the plate, blasting three home runs including a grand slam as the New York Yankees set a team record with nine homers in their 20-9 victory against the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday afternoon.
The Yankees made history from the very first inning, becoming the first team in franchise history to open a game with three consecutive home runs. Paul Goldschmidt, Cody Bellinger and Judge all connected on first-pitch homers off former Yankee Nestor Cortes to give New York an immediate 3-0 lead.
Judge wasn't done, adding a grand slam to left center in the third inning and another two-run shot to center in the fourth to complete his third career three-homer game. He finished with a career-high eight RBIs after contributing an RBI double in the sixth.
The historic offensive explosion put the Yankees in rare company as just the third team in major league history with nine or more homers in a single game. The Toronto Blue Jays hold the record with 10 against the Baltimore Orioles in 1987, while the Cincinnati Reds also hit nine against the Philadelphia Phillies in 1999.
Milwaukee's offense showed some life despite the lopsided score, collecting 13 hits. Rhys Hoskins, Vinny Capra, and Christian Yelich each contributed RBI singles, while Brice Turang added a two-run homer for the Brewers.
In other action around the league, the San Diego Padres edged the Atlanta Braves 1-0 on Yuli Gurriel's pinch-hit RBI single in the seventh inning. The Los Angeles Angels blanked the Chicago White Sox 1-0 behind Jose Soriano's seven shutout innings, while the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Minnesota Twins 5-1 with Erick Fedde allowing just one run over six strong innings.
The Oakland Athletics, Baltimore Orioles, Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies, Texas Rangers, Miami Marlins, Kansas City Royals, Houston Astros, and Colorado Rockies also recorded victories on a busy day of baseball action across the majors.
