Mohamed Salah shortlisted for PFA Player of the Year

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah headlines the six-man shortlist for the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Men’s Player of the Year award, following a stellar season in which he powered the Reds to the Premier League title.
The 33-year-old Egyptian forward notched an incredible 29 goals and 18 assists across all competitions, earning him Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year, where he secured nearly 90% of the vote — the highest winning margin of the 21st century. Salah is now the clear favourite to complete a prestigious individual double with the PFA honour.

While Salah and Rice were expected names, Cole Palmer's inclusion raised eyebrows. Despite Chelsea’s inconsistency, the young midfielder showed flashes of brilliance and had previously claimed the PFA Young Player of the Year title for 2023–24.
- Declan Rice enjoyed a career-best campaign, contributing 9 goals and 10 assists from midfield as Arsenal fought hard in the title race.
- Alexander Isak hit 23 goals, helping Newcastle return to the Champions League and ending a 56-year wait for silverware with the League Cup win.
- Bruno Fernandes, despite Manchester United’s lowest league finish since 1973–74, managed 8 goals and 10 assists, carrying much of the creative burden.
