Mohamed Salah wins Golden Boot, equals EPL record for goal involvements in a single season

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah capped off an incredible 2024–25 Premier League season by winning the Golden Boot and equaling the all-time record for goal involvements in a single English top-flight campaign with 47 contributions. The Egyptian star finished the season with 29 goals and 18 assists, playing a decisive role in Liverpool's title-winning campaign under new manager Arne Slot.
With his goal in the final match against Crystal Palace, Salah joined Alan Shearer and Andy Cole in an elite club, matching their record of 47 goal involvements in a single season. Notably, both Shearer and Cole hit that mark in 42-game seasons, while Salah did it in a modern 38-game format.
Salah broke the 38-game season record earlier in April with his 45th contribution, shortly after signing a contract extension that ended speculation about his future at Anfield.
Fourth Golden Boot and a place in Premier League history
Salah’s 29 goals earned him his fourth Premier League Golden Boot, tying him with Thierry Henry for the most Golden Boots in EPL history. His previous wins came in 2018, 2019, and 2022.
Though he experienced a dip in form late in the season—scoring just one goal in his last four matches—his dominance in the opening half, which included 13 goals and 8 assists in his first 14 games, gave him an unassailable lead in the scoring race.
Salah crowned 2024/25 EA SPORTS Player of the Season
Salah’s brilliance throughout the season earned him the 2024/25 EA SPORTS Player of the Season award. The 32-year-old becomes just the fifth player in Premier League history to win the accolade more than once, joining the likes of Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Nemanja Vidic, and Kevin De Bruyne.
He first won the award in 2017/18, and now, after another record-setting campaign, Salah has a chance to become the first-ever three-time winner if he maintains his elite form in the upcoming season.
Salah topped an eight-man shortlist that included Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, and other Premier League stars like Declan Rice, Bryan Mbeumo, and Alexander Isak. Notably, he ends a five-year run dominated by Manchester City players.
Liverpool clinch 20th English League title
Salah’s brilliance was a key factor in Liverpool’s resurgence, as the Reds lifted their 20th English top-flight title and second Premier League crown since 2020.
Under Arne Slot’s first season in charge, the club demonstrated attacking prowess and tactical discipline, powered by the consistency of Salah and the emerging talents around him.
