Monaco 2-0 Brest: Monaco move up to second with comfortable win

AS Monaco moved into second place in Ligue 1 with a 2-0 win over Brest at home on Sunday, thanks to goals from Denis Zakaria and Aleksandr Golovin.
Brest thought they had taken an early lead when Jeremy Le Douaron tapped in a cross, but the goal was ruled out due to a previous foul.
After 16 minutes, Monaco broke the deadlock when Zakaria headed home from a corner.
Both teams were aggressive and scored in quick succession around the half-hour mark, but both goals were called back due to offside.
After 69 minutes, Golovin was left unmarked to double Monaco's lead, receiving a cross inside the box and skillfully finishing into the top corner.
Brest hit the crossbar twice, and defender Lilian Brassier was sent off in the dying moments of the game after receiving his second yellow card for a foul.
Monaco is second with 23 points, one point behind PSG.
