MotoGP: Marc Marquez seizes pole at Spanish Grand Prix in Jerez

Marc Marquez, the six-time MotoGP champion, secured pole position for the Spanish Grand Prix in his home country. He narrowly beat Marco Bezzecchi from VR46 Racing and the current championship leader, Jorge Martin, in a wet qualifying session on Saturday.
This is a significant achievement for Marquez as it is his first pole position with the satellite Ducati team Gresini Racing. He made the switch from Honda before the start of this season.
With this pole position, Marquez now has a total of 93 career pole positions, with his previous one being at the Portuguese GP in March last year.
Marquez expressed his joy, stating, "I am super happy, especially because it is my first pole position with Gresini... I am gaining more and more confidence step by step.
So, yes, we need to stay focused... However, starting from pole position, my aim is to finish on the podium."
The reigning MotoGP champion, Francesco Bagnaia, finished in seventh place at the Circuito de Jerez.
Spanish rookie Pedro Acosta seemed poised to secure a fairytale pole position but was unfortunately pushed out after a late crash in Q2. As a result, the Red Bull GasGas Tech3 rider will start in 10th place on Sunday.
The sprint race will take place later on Saturday.
