Nantes 1-1 Paris Saint-Germain: Nantes stun unbeaten PSG with comeback draw in Ligue 1

Paris Saint-Germain continues to pursue the historic achievement of completing an entire Ligue 1 season without a loss (W24, D6), despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Nantes at the Stade de la Beaujoire.

Nantes, embroiled in a critical relegation battle involving six teams, demonstrated resilience against the recently crowned champions during the initial fifteen minutes of this crucial match.

It was not until the 30th minute that either team managed a serious attempt on goal, with Ousmane Dembele, the league's top scorer, directing a shot directly at home goalkeeper Patrik Carlgren.

However, the visitors took the lead shortly after the half-hour mark, as Lee Kang-In's precise pass enabled Vitinha to deliver a remarkable strike past Carlgren from within the penalty area.

Joao Neves nearly extended the lead to 2-0 just before halftime, but Nantes' substitute goalkeeper, filling in for the injured Anthony Lopes, made a crucial save to deflect the Portuguese midfielder's powerful volley away from the goal.

After failing to register a shot on target in the first half, Nantes emerged as a revitalized team following the break, with only a spectacular one-handed save from Gianluigi Donnarumma around the hour mark preventing Jean Charles-Castelletto from equalizing for the hosts.

In reaction to the scare, PSG manager Luis Enrique made a significant tactical adjustment with a triple substitution, bringing on the £80 million player Goncalo Ramos, the impressive Bradley Barcola, who has contributed to 23 goals in the league this season, and the promising talent Desire Doue.

However, it was Vitinha, the goalscorer, who had the next opportunity in the match, but his close-range shot was skillfully saved by Carlgren. The Swedish goalkeeper continued to showcase his talent in Lopes' absence, successfully blocking Barcola's one-on-one attempt.

Carlgren's outstanding performance earned him the man-of-the-match title and secured a crucial point for his team, as Douglas Augusto scored a magnificent equaliser in the 83rd minute.

This vital point for Nantes in their fight against relegation allows them to move four points clear of the relegation play-off zone with four matches left to play.

Meanwhile, PSG has extended their remarkable unbeaten away league streak to 39 matches (30 wins, 9 draws), despite not being able to secure all three points.
