Shai Gilgeous-Alexander once again rose to the occasion, dropping 34 points to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a resounding 123-107 win over the Indiana Pacers in Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night.

The MVP put on another stellar performance at home after Oklahoma City’s heart-wrenching last-second Game 1 losson Thursday. With the win, the Thunder tie the series at 1-1, heading into Game 3 in Indiana on Wednesday, June 11.

Thunder Bounce Back with Dominant All-Around Effort

Gilgeous-Alexander, who posted 38 points in Game 1, led a balanced Thunder attack that saw five players score in double figures.

Alex Caruso came off the bench to tally 20 points, including four three-pointers, while Aaron Wiggins added 18 points after hitting 5-of-8 from deep.

The Thunder defense also showed major improvement, stifling Indiana’s high-tempo offense and forcing five turnoversfrom Tyrese Haliburton, who was limited to 17 points.

Gilgeous-Alexander: "Defense Set the Tone"

After the game, Gilgeous-Alexander praised the team's defensive intensity:

We just know with them, that’s where it starts – they’re a high-powered offense. They play fast, score a bunch of points, and if you don’t get stops, you’re running all game. They can beat you that way.

He also reflected on the team’s ability to stay composed after the Game 1 setback:
