NBA roundup: Bucks end six-game losing streak, Timberwolves dominate in Chicago

Damian Lillard recorded 34 points, leading the Milwaukee Bucks to end their six-game losing streak and secure their first home victory of the season.
Lillard made four three-pointers and achieved a shooting percentage of 12-of-22 from the field, marking his third consecutive game with at least 30 points. This performance was instrumental in Milwaukee's 123-100 triumph over the Utah Jazz, representing only their second win of the season.
Giannis Antetokounmpo contributed significantly with 31 points and 16 rebounds, while Bobby Portis added 19 points off the bench, providing the Bucks with a crucial win following a challenging start to the season.
The 2021 NBA champions began the game with a disappointing 1-6 record, placing them near the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.
Utah appeared poised to exacerbate Milwaukee's struggles by leading 61-57 at halftime at the Fiserv Forum.
However, the Bucks surged in the third quarter, outscoring the Jazz 31-16, which established a lead that proved unassailable, finally giving their home supporters a reason to celebrate.
"It feels great," Lillard remarked. "After a tough start, it is easy to become disheartened and anxious.
"Tonight, we approached the game with the right mindset. Although they made some three-pointers, we remained resilient, shared the ball effectively, and ultimately found our rhythm to take control of the game."
"We must leverage this victory as momentum for future games."
In other matchups, the Minnesota Timberwolves achieved a decisive 135-119 victory against the Bulls in Chicago.
Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves with a remarkable performance, scoring 33 points, including five three-pointers, along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Chicago maintained a strong lead for significant stretches of the game, holding the advantage from the early moments of the first quarter until approximately halfway through the fourth quarter.
However, Minnesota made a remarkable comeback in the final period, dramatically reversing the game's momentum by outscoring Chicago 45-24, ultimately securing a comfortable victory.
Six players from the Timberwolves reached double figures, with Julius Randle contributing 22 points and Rudy Gobert adding 21 points to the tally.
Gobert, the French international, praised Edwards for his pivotal role in the game.
"Each year, his playmaking skills have improved, and I believe this is the year he truly understands the dynamics on the court," Gobert remarked.
"My responsibility is to create opportunities for him or to find openings myself to complete the play."
Nikola Vucevic was the top scorer for Chicago, finishing with 25 points, closely followed by Coby White, who scored 24.
In San Antonio, eight players from the Spurs achieved double-digit scoring in a 118-105 win against the Portland Trail Blazers.
The Spurs played once again without their esteemed head coach, Gregg Popovich, who has been sidelined due to an unspecified health issue that arose last weekend.
