NBA roundup: Jazz bully Mavs behind Jordan Clarkson's triple-double

Utah's first triple-double in almost 16 years was achieved by Jordan Clarkson, as the Jazz sought redemption for their previous 50-point defeat against the Dallas Mavericks. In a resounding 127-90 triumph on Monday night in Salt Lake City, the Jazz showcased their dominance.
In the regular season game against the Mavericks, Clarkson of the Jazz recorded 20 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds, achieving a triple-double.
This is a significant accomplishment for the Jazz as the last time a player achieved a triple-double in the regular season was back in 2008 when Carlos Boozer did it.
However, despite Clarkson's impressive performance, the Jazz suffered a heavy defeat with a score of 147-97.
Luka Doncic of the Mavericks also had a triple-double in this game, contributing 19 points, 14 assists, and six rebounds.
Kyrie Irving made his return for the Mavericks after a 12-game absence due to a heel injury, scoring 14 points, grabbing nine rebounds, and providing four assists.
Despite the loss, Utah has been performing well recently, winning eight of their past 11 games. They displayed control over the game for a significant portion and even had a dominant 25-2 run in the second half.
Overall, it was a noteworthy individual performance by Clarkson, but the Jazz couldn't secure the victory against the Mavericks.
The New York Knicks secured a 112-106 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Julius Randle was the hero of the game, scoring 12 of the final 13 points for the Knicks.
Although they almost blew a 22-point lead in the third quarter, they managed to hold off the Timberwolves.
Randle had a stellar performance, finishing with 39 points and nine rebounds, just two points shy of his season-high. It was also OG Anunoby's debut for the Knicks, contributing 17 points and six rebounds before fouling out in the fourth quarter.
For the Timberwolves, Anthony Edwards stood out with 35 points, while Karl-Anthony Towns added 29 points.
However, their efforts were not enough to overcome the Knicks' strong performance. This loss snapped the Timberwolves' two-game winning streak and solidified the Knicks' victory.
Phoenix secured their fourth consecutive victory in a dominant fashion against Portland, with Bradley Beal leading the charge by scoring 21 points.
This marks the first time since his trade to Phoenix in the off-season that Beal has achieved back-to-back games with at least 20 points.
The Suns' starting lineup, consisting of Jusuf Nurkic, Chimezie Metu, Grayson Allen, and Devin Booker, also contributed significantly by scoring in double figures. It is worth noting that Kevin Durant, the star forward, was absent from the game due to a right hamstring injury.
On the other side, Scoot Henderson of Portland showcased his skills by scoring 17 points and matching Booker's game-high with six assists. Jerami Grant also made a notable contribution with 15 points.
