NBA Roundup: Nets rally from 23 down to shock Pistons, Thunder reach 50 wins

The Brooklyn Nets produced one of their most dramatic performances of the season on Saturday night, rallying from a 23-point deficit to defeat the Detroit Pistons 107-105 and snap a frustrating 10-game losing streak.

Michael Porter Jr. delivered a dominant all-around performance with 30 points and 13 rebounds as Brooklyn surged back in the second half to silence the home crowd in Detroit. The comeback was completed with a decisive late run, as the Nets closed the game on an 18-6 stretch.

Ziaire Williams added 23 points for Brooklyn, while Noah Clowney contributed 16 and Day'Ron Sharpe chipped in 13 to support the scoring effort.

Detroit still had chances in the closing moments. After Williams drilled a crucial three-pointer with 1:28 remaining to give Brooklyn a 105-103 advantage, both teams exchanged free throws before a pair of missed opportunities sealed the Pistons’ fate. Duncan Robinson missed a potential go-ahead three-pointer, and Jalen Duren could not convert a putback attempt in the final seconds.

The defeat marked Detroit’s third consecutive loss and ended a five-game winning streak the Pistons had held over Brooklyn this season.

Detroit was without All-Star guard Cade Cunningham, who sat out with a left quadriceps contusion, while Ausar Thompson also missed the contest with a sprained right ankle.

Thunder become first team to reach 50 wins

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander once again proved decisive for the Oklahoma City Thunder, scoring 27 points and hitting a clutch step-back three-pointer in the final minute to secure a 104-97 win over the Golden State Warriors.

The victory extended Oklahoma City’s winning streak to five games and made them the first team in the NBA this season to reach 50 wins.

Isaiah Joe added 18 points for the Thunder, who were missing several key players including Chet Holmgren, Isaiah Hartenstein and Jalen Williams due to injuries and illness.

Despite being short-handed themselves without Stephen Curry and several rotation players, the Warriors stayed competitive throughout the contest. Gui Santos led Golden State with 22 points and 11 rebounds, but the visitors missed their final four shots as Oklahoma City closed the game out.

Magic cruise past Timberwolves behind Bane

The Orlando Magic continued their strong form with a convincing 119-92 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Desmond Bane led the charge with 30 points on efficient shooting, while Paolo Banchero posted a dominant double-double with 25 points and 15 rebounds.

Jalen Suggs added 14 points and knocked down three three-pointers as Orlando secured its third consecutive win. Anthony Edwards paced Minnesota with 34 points, including five three-pointers, but the Timberwolves struggled to match Orlando’s offensive rhythm throughout the game.

Clippers rally to edge Grizzlies in high-scoring contest

The Los Angeles Clippers mounted a comeback of their own, overturning a 19-point first-half deficit to defeat the Memphis Grizzlies 123-120. Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers with 28 points and delivered a composed performance from the free-throw line, making 12 of his 14 attempts.

Darius Garland and Bennedict Mathurin each contributed 21 points to help Los Angeles secure its fourth win in five games. Derrick Jones Jr. added 16 points, while Isaiah Jackson recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Memphis was led by Ty Jerome’s 23 points and seven assists, with Taylor Hendricks scoring 18 points off the bench. The loss continued a difficult stretch for the Grizzlies, who have now dropped six of their last eight games.

Hawks stay hot with sixth straight victory

The Atlanta Hawks continued their impressive run with a 125-116 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, completing a four-game season sweep in the process. Jalen Johnson delivered a standout performance with 35 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists to lead Atlanta.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker provided key scoring from beyond the arc, hitting four second-half three-pointers and finishing with 24 points and six assists as the Hawks secured their sixth consecutive win.

Tyrese Maxey paced Philadelphia with 31 points, while Quentin Grimes added 26 and Kelly Oubre Jr. chipped in 24 in his return to the lineup.

Giannis leads Bucks past Jazz

Giannis Antetokounmpo guided the Milwaukee Bucks to a comfortable 113-99 victory over the Utah Jazz. The former MVP recorded 27 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, narrowly missing a triple-double in another dominant performance.

Ryan Rollins also impressed for Milwaukee with 13 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists, while Ousmane Dieng added 11 points. Keyonte George led Utah with 22 points, but the Jazz continued their struggles, suffering their eighth defeat in the last nine games.
