NBA roundup: Nets hand Pistons their record 27th straight defeat

Detroit's 27-game losing streak surpasses the struggles of the 2010-11 Cleveland Cavaliers and the 2013-14 Philadelphia 76ers, both of which endured 26 consecutive losses.

Philadelphia holds the all-time longest losing streak, spanning two seasons with 28 straight losses between the end of the 2014-15 season and the beginning of the 2015-16 campaign. The Pistons could equal this record when they face the Boston Celtics on Thursday.

In another game, Mikal Bridges and Cam Thomas contributed 21 and 17 points for Brooklyn, while Cade Cunningham carried the Pistons with an impressive 41 points, 37 of which came in the second half. Bojan Bogdanovic added 23 points.

Turning to the Bulls vs. Hawks matchup, Andre Drummond's 24 points and 25 rebounds propelled Chicago past Atlanta. Drummond became the sixth player this season to achieve a 20-20 game in the NBA. DeMar DeRozan added 25 points for the Bulls, who secured their fourth win in five games. For Atlanta, Bogdan Bogdanovic led with 22 points, and Trae Young contributed 21 points and 13 assists but fell short of breaking Oscar Robertson's record.

In a close contest, the Grizzlies edged the Pelicans 116-115 in overtime. Ja Morant scored 31 points, and Jaren Jackson Jr. had 19, including crucial points in overtime. Desmond Bane added 27 points for the Grizzlies, while Brandon Ingram scored 24, and Zion Williamson recorded 23 points and 11 rebounds for the Pelicans.

Lastly, Orlando claimed a 127-119 victory over Washington, with Franz Wagner scoring 28 points and Paolo Banchero contributing 24. Rookie Anthony Black had a career-high 23 points for Orlando. Jordan Poole led the Wizards with 30 points, but their late rally fell short as they suffered their second consecutive loss. Tyus Jones scored 22 points, and Daniel Gafford recorded 13 points and 13 rebounds.

In a 123-117 victory over the Rockets, Tyrese Haliburton orchestrated the offense with 33 points and 10 assists, leading the Pacers to triumph after a series of losses. Myles Turner contributed 18 points, and the team shot an impressive 52.4% from the field. On the Rockets' side, Alperen Sengun posted 30 points and 16 rebounds, while Fred VanVleet added 18 points and nine assists.

Meanwhile, the Jazz secured a 130-118 win against the Spurs, with Lauri Markkanen's impressive performance of 31 points and 12 rebounds, including four crucial 3-pointers in the fourth quarter. Despite a San Antonio comeback attempt, Markkanen's scoring, along with Jordan Clarkson's 24 points, secured the victory. Keldon Johnson led the Spurs with 26 points, but their struggles continued with 23 losses in their last 24 games.

Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves with a score of 129-106, led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's 34 points. Gilgeous-Alexander was 14 of 19 from the field, contributing nine assists and six rebounds. Jalen Williams added 21 points, while Luguentz Dort and Chet Holmgren each scored 20. It marked the Thunder's 14th win in the past 19 games and the Timberwolves' third loss in 14 games, with Anthony Edwards leading Minnesota with 25 points.

The Portland Trail Blazers secured a 130-113 victory over the Sacramento Kings, with Anfernee Simons scoring 29 points and rookie Duop Reath achieving career highs of 25 points and nine rebounds. Portland, winning for the second time in 11 games, shot 50% from the field, including 40% from three-point range. De'Aaron Fox scored 43 points for the Kings, making a career-best seven 3-pointers, but it wasn't enough as Domantas Sabonis contributed 34 points in a losing effort.

The Los Angeles Clippers, without Kawhi Leonard, snapped a two-game losing streak with a 113-104 win over the Charlotte Hornets. James Harden scored 29 points, Paul George added 25, and Ivica Zubac contributed 18 points and 14 rebounds. The Clippers went 14 of 34 from three-point range, while the Hornets struggled at 20.7% from beyond the arc. Miles Bridges recorded 21 points and 11 rebounds, but Charlotte extended their losing streak to eight games, with P.J. Washington and Terry Rozier each scoring 18 points.
