NBA suspends Amen Thompson, Terry Rozier following Rockets-Heat brawl

The NBA has announced the suspension of Houston forward Amen Thompson (21) for two games and Miami guard Terry Rozier (30) for one game due to their involvement in the altercation that occurred in the final moments of the Rockets-Heat matchup on Sunday.

Joe Dumars, the executive vice president and head of basketball operations for the National Basketball Association, disclosed the disciplinary actions on Tuesday.

Additionally, Houston Rockets guard Jalen Green received a fine of $35,000, while Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro was fined $25,000, as stated by Dumars.

Furthermore, Rockets head coach Ime Udoka was penalized with a $50,000 fine for verbally abusing a game official and for not exiting the court promptly after receiving a technical foul and subsequent ejection.

Rockets assistant coach Ben Sullivan was also ejected during the incident, which unfolded with 35.7 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter of Miami's 104-100 win in Houston.

The league concluded that Herro instigated the confrontation by "leaning into the midsection of Thompson."

In response, Thompson seized Herro's jersey and threw him to the ground.

"Green and Rozier subsequently became involved in the altercation, leading to an escalation of the situation," Dumars remarked.

In total, six individuals were ejected from the game. Rockets guard Fred VanVleet had been ejected approximately 10 seconds earlier for "reckless contact with a game official," and he was also fined $35,000 on Tuesday.
