Nelly Korda wins LPGA Match Play in Las Vegas to seal foursome

Nelly Korda, the top-ranked player in the world, continued her winning streak by securing her fourth consecutive tournament triumph on Sunday. With an impressive display of skill, she triumphed over Leona Maguire from Ireland with a score of 4&3 at the LPGA Match Play event held in Las Vegas.

The American star maintained control in ideal conditions at Shadow Creek golf course, establishing an early lead of four up after seven holes.

Maguire managed to win a hole back at the ninth, but Korda continued to apply pressure with a par at the 10th while Maguire struggled with a bogey five.

Korda extended her lead to five up with six holes remaining after another birdie at the 12th.

Although Maguire made a comeback with birdies at the 13th and 14th, reducing Korda's lead to three up with four holes left, Korda secured victory with a birdie on the par-four 15th, winning 4&3.

Reflecting on her four-tournament win streak, Korda expressed, "It's been a whirlwind experience. Winning at the match play has been incredibly enjoyable. The adrenaline in match play is present from the start, and it was a great day competing against Leona."

Maguire, known for her match play prowess, was unable to replicate her strong performance in the final against Korda, who she praised as one of the best players in the world currently.
