Newcastle United celebrate historic League Cup triumph with massive city parade

Tens of thousands of Newcastle United fans filled the streets on Saturday to celebrate the club’s first domestic trophy in 70 years, transforming the city into a sea of black and white for a jubilant open-top bus parade.
An estimated 150,000 supporters gathered to catch a glimpse of the League Cup, which Newcastle secured with a thrilling 2-1 victory over Liverpool in the final at Wembley Stadium on March 16.
For manager Eddie Howe, the celebrations marked an emotional milestone as a massive banner honoring him was unveiled outside St James’ Park.
"I can't thank everyone enough, from Newcastle, the way they've embraced me and my family and I'm glad to have given them some joy," Howe said from atop the bus as it made its way through the city.
As the team’s parade neared the Town Moor site, white smoke filled the air while fans sang a passionate rendition of Hey Jude, replacing ‘Jude’ with ‘Geordies.’ ABBA hits played over the speakers, setting the stage for a celebration expected to continue long into the night.
