NFL roundup: Rams zip past 49ers in final seconds, Ravens edge Cowboys

Joshua Karty, aged 22, successfully kicked a 37-yard field goal with just two seconds left on the clock, leading the Los Angeles Rams to a remarkable 27-24 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Inglewood, California, on Sunday. The Rams scored 13 points in the final 6:15 of the game to secure the win.
Matthew Stafford completed 16 of 25 passes for 221 yards and one touchdown, while Kyren Williams contributed significantly with 89 rushing yards and two touchdowns, along with one touchdown reception. This victory marked the end of a five-game home losing streak for the Rams (1-2) against the 49ers.
On the other side, 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy completed 22 of 30 passes for 292 yards, throwing three touchdown passes to Jauan Jennings, who recorded 11 receptions for 175 yards. Jordan Mason added 77 rushing yards for San Francisco (1-2).
After Karty's 33-yard field goal narrowed the gap to 24-17 with just over six minutes remaining, the Rams executed a swift three-play, 55-yard drive culminating in a 3-yard touchdown run by Williams with 1:51 left, leveling the score at 24.
Los Angeles then forced a punt from San Francisco with less than a minute remaining. Rookie Xavier Smith returned the punt for 38 yards to the 50-yard line. A pass interference penalty against the 49ers advanced the ball to the San Francisco 19-yard line, setting the stage for Karty to kick the game-winning field goal in only his third NFL game.

The 36-year-old veteran, who transitioned from the Cincinnati Bengals to a journeyman role, took over as the starting quarterback just three games into the season, replacing the 2023 No. 1 overall draft pick, Bryce Young. Dalton achieved a commendable performance, completing 26 of 37 passes for 319 yards without any interceptions.
Chuba Hubbard contributed significantly, rushing for 114 yards on 21 carries and adding five receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown for the Panthers (1-2). For the Raiders (1-2), Gardner Minshew completed 18 of 28 passes, throwing one interception and a 13-yard touchdown pass to Jakobi Meyers in the fourth quarter.

However, the Cowboys had exhausted their timeouts, and a crucial 10-yard run by Lamar Jackson after the two-minute warning ensured Baltimore's win (1-2).
Jackson passed for 182 yards with one touchdown and rushed for 87 yards and another score. Prescott completed 28 of 51 passes for 379 yards, including two touchdowns, while tight end Jake Ferguson recorded six receptions for 95 yards for the Cowboys (1-2).
