With 6:09 remaining in the game, Svechnikov scored his second goal to break the tie. He then added an empty-netter with only 18.9 seconds left on the clock, securing his sixth goal of the season. Sebastian Aho's four assists and Brent Burns' three assists provided significant boosts to Carolina's offensive performance.
Additionally, Raanta made 18 saves in his first NHL game since December 15th. He had cleared waivers and took an AHL assignment before rejoining the Hurricanes, who have been displaying strong form with a record of 3-1-1 in their past five games.
On the other side, the Canadiens saw goals from Mitchell Stephens, Mike Matheson, and Josh Anderson, but it wasn't enough to overcome Carolina's dominance. Cayden Primeau made 29 saves during the game.
Moving on to the Oilers' match against the Sharks, Stuart Skinner's exceptional goaltending skills led to his second shutout of the season, making 25 saves in total.
Edmonton capitalized on a four-goal first period to secure a convincing victory. Evan Bouchard, Zach Hyman, and Ryan McLeod each contributed with one goal and one assist, while Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Leon Draisaitl also found the back of the net.

The Golden Knights managed to end their losing streak with a win against the Kings, thanks to Logan Thompson's impressive performance, making 32 saves.
Jack Eichel, Michael Amadio, and William Karlsson were the goal scorers for Vegas, helping them secure a tie for first place in the Pacific Division alongside Vancouver. Both teams currently have equal points with the New York Rangers, making it a three-way tie for most points in the NHL (49).
Anze Kopitar and Trevor Moore scored for the Kings, but their efforts weren't enough to secure a victory against the Golden Knights. Cam Talbot stopped 29 shots during the game. Lastly, the Flyers emerged victorious with a 4-1 win over the Canucks.
Egor Zamula, Sean Walker, and Joel Farabee opened the floodgates in a span of 2 minutes and 6 seconds in the second period, breaking the previously scoreless game. Philadelphia then held on to their lead till the end of the game.
In the third period, Garnet Hathaway netted a short-handed goal while Samuel Ersson, before succumbing to dehydration, made 18 saves for Philadelphia. Carter Hart, on the other hand, successfully denied all eight shots he faced for the Flyers, who have been in impressive form with an 8-1-3 record in their last 12 games.
Meanwhile, Teddy Blueger found the back of the net for the Canucks, while Casey DeSmith showcased his skills with 21 saves. The Canucks had been on a hot streak, earning at least a point in their previous nine games (7-0-2).
