Auston Matthews tallied two goals and three assists to equal his personal best in points, while Max Domi notched a career-high four assists, propelling the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 7-3 victory over the Washington Capitals during Wednesday's game.
The Maple Leafs (39-20-9, 87 points) managed to avoid a three-game losing streak since mid-January with a strong performance from John Tavares and William Nylander. Both players contributed a goal and two assists to secure a victory.
Additionally, Jake McCabe, Bobby McMann, and Tyler Bertuzzi also found the back of the net, while Joseph Woll made 18 saves to protect Toronto's lead.
On the other side, the Capitals (33-26-9, 75 points) fell short in their attempt to secure a fourth consecutive win since mid-November. Alex Ovechkin stood out with two goals, bringing him closer to surpassing Wayne Gretzky's all-time NHL lead by 50 goals.
Charlie Lindgren made 22 saves for Washington, but it wasn't enough to secure the victory. Connor McMichael also contributed a goal for the Capitals.
In another game, the Stars emerged victorious with a 5-2 win over the Coyotes. Jamie Benn's goal in his 1,100th career game was a standout moment during Dallas' three-goal second period. Logan Stankoven and Tyler Seguin also scored for the Stars, who overcame a 1-0 deficit.

Los Angeles Kings dominated Minnesota Wild with a final score of 6-0. Anze Kopitar reached a milestone of over 1,200 career points with one goal and one assist, while David Rittich achieved his third shutout of the season.
Phillip Danault, Kevin Fiala, Viktor Arvidsson, Matt Roy, and Jordan Spence also contributed with goals, and Rittich made 31 saves for his seventh career shutout.
