NHL roundup: Dallas Stars and Florida Panthers pull off stunning upsets against the two hottest teams in hockey

The Dallas Stars concluded the Washington Capitals' impressive 10-game road winning streak on Monday, while the Florida Panthers halted the Edmonton Oilers' league-leading five-game winning streak.
The Capitals initially took a 1-0 lead in the first period, courtesy of a power-play goal by Dylan Strome (11). However, the Stars responded decisively with three consecutive goals, including two from Roope Hintz (13) and one from Lian Bichsel (2).
With this victory, the Stars improved their record to 19-11-0, while the Capitals retained their top position in the Metropolitan Division with a record of 21-7-2.
In the matchup between the Panthers and the Oilers, the latter's five-game winning streak was also snapped by the same team that had recently defeated them in the Stanley Cup Finals.
The Oilers surged ahead 4-2 after netting three straight goals in the second period, but the Panthers retaliated with three unanswered goals to take a 5-4 lead.
Although Kasperi Kapanen (4) equalized for Edmonton in the third period, Florida's Carter Verhaeghe (9) scored the decisive goal with just under seven minutes remaining, securing a thrilling victory for the Panthers.
