The Calgary Flames conducted a poignant ceremony to pay tribute to the late Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau prior to their match against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday.

The Gaudreau family was honored at center ice for the ceremonial face-off before the game commenced. Fans erupted in cheers for Johnny, creating a memorable moment for hockey enthusiasts globally.

The Flames secured a 3-0 victory over the Blue Jackets, marking the only shutout of the evening. Rasmus Andersson (6) and Kevin Bahl (1) each scored during power plays, while Yegor Sharangovich (6) added a third goal with an empty-netter, elevating the team's record to 13-9-4.

In another matchup, the Colorado Avalanche enhanced their record to 14-12-0 after executing a remarkable five-goal comeback against the Buffalo Sabres (11-12-2), winning 5-4.

The Sabres initially surged to a four-goal advantage in the first period, with two consecutive goals from Tage Thompson (13), followed by contributions from JJ Peterka (8) and Beck Malenstyn (2). However, the Avalanche regained control, scoring five unanswered goals throughout the second and third periods.

The Pittsburgh Penguins (11-12-4) achieved their fourth consecutive victory by triumphing over the Florida Panthers (15-9-2) in a thrilling 5-4 overtime match, having rallied from a three-goal deficit.

In another matchup, the Boston Bruins (13-11-3) managed to turn the tide against the Detroit Red Wings (10-11-4), overcoming a two-goal deficit to secure a 3-2 win, marking their second consecutive victory.

The Minnesota Wild continued their impressive form, winning their fourth straight game with a 3-2 overtime victory against the Vancouver Canucks, thereby enhancing their record to an impressive 17-4-4, the best in the league.

League Highlights
The San Jose Sharks delivered a surprising defeat to the in-form Washington Capitals, winning 2-1. Meanwhile, the Seattle Kraken netted two goals in the third period to secure a 4-2 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes. The St. Louis Blues triumphed over the Winnipeg Jets with a score of 4-1, condemning the Jets to their fourth consecutive loss.
