NHL roundup: Jack Eichel's OT goal completes Knights' comeback against Kraken

Jack Eichel netted his 200th career NHL goal on a breakaway during overtime at the 3:01 mark, leading the Vegas Golden Knights to a 5-4 victory over the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday night.

Jonathan Marchessault scored twice for the Golden Knights, including the game-tying goal with 16.3 seconds remaining in regulation with the goalie pulled for an extra attacker.

William Karlsson contributed a goal and an assist, while Pavel Dorofeyev also found the back of the net for Vegas. Eichel chipped in with two assists, and Adin Hill made 26 saves.

Brandon Tanev gave the Kraken a 3-2 lead at 5:21 of the third period. Andre Burakovsky, Matty Beniers, and Oliver Bjorkstrand also scored for Seattle, who now trail the Golden Knights by nine points for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference. Philipp Grubauer turned aside 29 of 34 shots.

Avalanche 6, Flames 2
Mikko Rantanen had two goals and two assists, with Valeri Nichushkin adding a goal and two assists in a dominant second period for Colorado against Calgary.

Nathan MacKinnon scored a goal and added an assist, while Josh Manson and Casey Mittelstadt also scored for the Avalanche, who have won four consecutive games. Justus Annunen made 25 saves, and Devon Toews had two assists.

Daniil Miromanov and Walker Duehr scored for the Flames, who have now lost three straight games. Dan Vladar made 29 saves before being replaced after allowing six goals in two periods. Dustin Wolf made three saves in relief.

Flyers 3, Sharks 2
Morgan Frost's goal and assist helped Philadelphia edge past San Jose at home.

Joel Farabee and Owen Tippett also scored for the Flyers, with Travis Konecny and Cam York each registering two assists. Samuel Ersson made 27 saves in the win.

Flyers coach John Tortorella was absent from the bench due to a two-game suspension, with associate coach Brad Shaw stepping in. Filip Zadina scored both goals for the Sharks, who have now lost 10 of their last 11 games. Luke Kunin had two assists, and Magnus Chrona stopped 38 shots.

Senators 2, Penguins 1 (OT)
Ottawa ended their seven-game losing streak by defeating Pittsburgh with a score of 2-1 in overtime. Drake Batherson secured the victory for the Senators with a powerful one-timer from the bottom of the left circle at 3:13 of the extra period.

This win was crucial for Ottawa, who had previously suffered six losses and one overtime defeat. Jake Sanderson also contributed to the team's success by scoring a goal and providing an assist. Joonas Korpisalo, the Senators' goaltender, made an impressive 34 saves and earned his first win since February 10.

On the other side, Michael Bunting managed to score the lone goal for the Penguins, who have now lost four consecutive games and seven out of their last eight. Tristan Jarry, Pittsburgh's goaltender, made 37 saves in a valiant effort.

Sabres 7, Red Wings 3
Bowen Byram netted two goals as Buffalo delivered Detroit its sixth straight loss on home ice.

Contributions from Zach Benson (1 goal, 2 assists), Alex Tuch, Jeff Skinner, Connor Clifton, and JJ Peterka added to the Sabres' dominance, scoring four times in the opening period. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen secured the win with 21 saves.

Detroit's Lucas Raymond managed a goal and an assist, while Ben Chiarot and Jake Walman also found the net for the struggling Red Wings.

Wild 4, Coyotes 1
Kirill Kaprizov's two goals and one assist powered Minnesota to victory over Arizona in Saint Paul, extending their point streak to five games (4-0-1).

Ryan Hartman and Marcus Foligno also scored for the Wild, with Marc-Andre Fleury stopping 21 of 22 shots.

Nick Bjugstad's lone goal for the Coyotes wasn't enough, as they have now lost four of their last five games despite Karel Vejmelka's 27 saves.

Blackhawks 7, Ducks 2
Philipp Kurashev's two goals and two assists, Connor Bedard's goal and four assists, and Nick Foligno's four assists led Chicago to a dominating win over Anaheim.

Chicago capitalized on three power-play opportunities, breaking out of a goal drought with 20 goals in their last four games, winning three of them.

The Ducks, beginning a four-game road trip, suffered their third consecutive loss.
