NHL roundup: Minnesota Wild earn historic 10-7 win over Vancouver Canucks

Joel Eriksson Ek and Kirill Kaprizov both recorded three goals and three assists apiece as the Minnesota Wild established a new franchise milestone for goals scored in a single game during their 10-7 victory against the Vancouver Canucks on Monday afternoon in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Matt Boldy and Mats Zuccarello contributed a goal and three assists each for Minnesota, extending their point streak to six games. The Wild managed to score one goal in the first period, two in the second, and an impressive seven goals in the third to secure their remarkable performance.
J.T. Miller scored three goals and provided an assist to lead Vancouver. Pius Suter assisted on three goals for the Canucks, who suffered consecutive regulation losses for the first time since Nov. 16-18. Minnesota scored six consecutive goals to turn a 5-2 deficit into an 8-5 lead.
Nikita Zadorov and Brock Boeser scored for the Canucks, narrowing the gap to 8-7 with 2:08 left. Jonas Brodin scored an empty-net goal to make it 9-7 in favor of the Wild with 1:07 remaining. Minnesota had never scored more than eight goals before, but Kaprizov set a new record with another empty-netter in the final seconds.
Bruins 4, Stars 3 (SO)
In the Bruins' 4-3 shootout victory over the Stars, Charlie McAvoy scored the decisive goal in the ninth round of the shootout, while Jeremy Swayman made a career-high 43 saves. McAvoy, who had two assists in regulation, beat Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger with a backhand shot for the shootout winner. Jesper Boqvist, Justin Brazeau (NHL debut), and David Pastrnak also scored for Boston. Swayman made 21 saves in the second period alone and seven in the shootout.
Wyatt Johnston, Ryan Suter, and Esa Lindell scored for Dallas, with Oettinger making 25 saves. Despite a 46-30 advantage in shots on goal, the Stars extended their point streak to five games (3-0-2).

Logan Thompson made 29 saves for his first shutout of the season, leading the Vegas Golden Knights to a 4-0 victory over the San Jose Sharks. It was Thompson's fourth career shutout and first since October 28, 2022. Mason Morelli had a goal and an assist in his NHL debut, while Alec Martinez tallied three assists. Auston Matthews scored his 49th goal of the season and added an assist to help the Toronto Maple Leafs defeat the St. Louis Blues 4-2. Matthew Knies, William Nylander, and Bobby McMann also scored for Toronto, with Mitch Marner contributing three assists. Ilya Samsonov made 19 saves for the Maple Leafs, who have now won four straight games. Brandon Saad and Pavel Buchnevich scored for the Blues, while Joel Hofer made 25 saves in the losing effort.

Ben Chiarot scored at 1:07 of overtime to lift the Detroit Red Wings to a 4-3 victory over the Seattle Kraken. Lucas Raymond had a goal and an assist, while Moritz Seider and Daniel Sprong also scored for Detroit. Alex Lyon made 38 saves in goal for the Red Wings, who won the final two games of their four-game road trip after dropping the first two.
