NHL roundup: Predators rally past Sharks to extend point streak

On Tuesday night, Michael McCarron netted two goals while the Nashville Predators tallied seven consecutive goals to secure an 8-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks who were visiting.
Nashville's victory allowed them to extend their point streak to 15 games (13-0-2), which equals a franchise record. In the 2017-18 season, the Predators also had a 15-game run (14-0-1).
For the Predators (40-25-4, 84 points), Roman Josi contributed with a goal and two assists, marking his third consecutive multipoint game. Filip Forsberg also had a goal and two assists, while Ryan McDonagh and Kiefer Sherwood each provided three assists. Juuse Saros made 18 saves to secure the win.
On the other side, the Sharks (16-45-7, 39 points) had Mario Ferraro with a goal and an assist. Unfortunately, they have now lost five straight games. Magnus Chrona made 32 saves in their effort.
In another game, the Wild defeated the Ducks 4-0. Minnesota scored three unanswered goals in the second period, and Filip Gustavsson made 27 saves to earn a shutout victory in Anaheim.
Ryan Hartman had a goal and an assist for the Wild, while Jon Merrill, Kirill Kaprizov, and Jacob Lucchini also found the back of the net. Gustavsson's performance marked his third shutout of the season. The Wild have been in excellent form, going 6-0-2 in their last eight games and an impressive 15-1-0 in their past 16 matchups against Anaheim.
John Gibson made 28 saves for the Ducks, who are currently on a seven-game losing streak, the longest active skid in the NHL. During this stretch, they have been outscored 35-7.
Colorado Avalanche defeated the St. Louis Blues with a score of 4-3 in an impressive game. Mikko Rantanen stood out with a brilliant hat trick, contributing greatly to the Avalanche's victory.
Additionally, Casey Mittelstadt also scored for Colorado, while Jonathan Drouin and Valeri Nichushkin provided crucial assists. Justus Annunen showcased his skills by making 30 saves throughout the game.
On the other side, the Blues put up a fight with Nathan Walker and Brayden Schenn scoring goals, and Justin Faulk assisting twice.
However, their efforts were not enough to secure the win, and their four-game winning streak came to an end. Jordan Binnington made 31 saves for St. Louis. With this win, Colorado extended their winning streak to seven games.
Edmonton bounced back from a blown lead to secure a victory over Montreal, with Leon Draisaitl scoring the winning goal on an overtime power play.
