NHL roundup: Rangers' Igor Shesterkin stands firm to blank Flames

Igor Shesterkin recorded a total of 30 saves to secure his inaugural shutout of the season, outperforming Jacob Markstrom in a thrilling 2-0 triumph for the New York Rangers against the Calgary Flames on Monday evening.
Shesterkin's exceptional performance in goal helped the Rangers extend their winning streak to five games in a physical matchup. With his 12th regular-season shutout, Shesterkin earned the game's first star.
In the second period, rookie Will Cuylle found the back of the net, and Jimmy Vesey sealed the victory with an empty-net goal in the final seconds.
Despite making 29 saves and giving the Flames numerous opportunities, Markstrom couldn't prevent them from falling short of extending their winning streak to five games and their road winning streak to six.
In a game between the Devils and the Kraken, Tyler Toffoli scored his team-leading 22nd goal of the season, contributing to New Jersey's win in Newark and extending Seattle's losing streak.

Travis Konecny's goal and two assists, along with Morgan Frost's penalty shot goal, propelled the Philadelphia Flyers to a 5-3 victory over the struggling Arizona Coyotes.
Despite going 0-for-8 on the power play, the Flyers secured their fourth consecutive win. Samuel Ersson, the goaltender for Philadelphia, made 20 saves to preserve the victory.
Matt Dumba, Matias Maccelli, and Alexander Kerfoot scored goals for the Coyotes, who have now lost six straight games (0-5-1). Karel Vejmelka, the Coyotes' goalie, stopped 29 shots.
