NHL roundup: Rangers win fight night against Devils following mass brawl

Chris Kreider netted a power-play goal to break a tie with 4:57 left in the third period, propelling the New York Rangers to a 4-3 win over the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday night. The game kicked off with a full-scale line brawl.
Prior to the goal, both teams deployed their fourth lines, and just two seconds into the game, five fights erupted. Notably, New York rookie Matt Rempe faced off against New Jersey defenseman Kurtis MacDermid. Following the brawl, Rempe and MacDermid were among eight players handed game misconducts.
The intense altercation was sparked by Rempe's contentious history with the Devils. Having been ejected from the previous two matchups, his elbow on Jonas Siegenthaler in the second period of the March 11 game led to a four-game suspension.
Artemi Panarin notched New York's opening goal and contributed an assist, bringing his points total to 110 - the second-highest in team history. With the win, the Rangers secured a season sweep against the Devils.
The Dallas Stars defeated the Edmonton Oilers with a score of 5-0. Jake Oettinger's 35 saves and Radek Faksa's goal and two assists contributed to Dallas' team-record eight-game winning streak.
The Stars are currently leading the Western Conference and are just one point behind the New York Rangers in the race for the Presidents' Trophy. Throughout their impressive 8-0-0 streak, Dallas has outscored their opponents 34-11.
On the other hand, the Oilers missed an opportunity to solidify their playoff position as the second-place team in the Pacific Division. This regulation loss ended Edmonton's four-game points streak (3-0-1).
The Vancouver Canucks defeated the Arizona Coyotes 2-1 in Tempe, Arizona, with Conor Garland netting the game-winning goal in the final period.
Quinn Hughes, the Canucks' captain, contributed with a goal and an assist, marking his 70th assist of the season.
Arturs Silovs, the goaltender for Vancouver, made 20 saves to secure the win. Prior to this victory, Vancouver had a record of 1 win and 3 losses in their last four games.
On the other side, Dylan Guenther scored the only goal for the Coyotes, while Connor Ingram made 31 saves in the losing effort.
