Thursday night’s NHL action saw the Ottawa Senators and New Jersey Devils extend their winning streaks, while the Philadelphia Flyers ended a five-game losing streak with a shootout win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Senators Stay Hot, Defeat Bruins 6-3
Drake Batherson led the way with two goals, helping the Senators secure their fifth straight win. Ottawa now leads the Eastern Conference Wild Card race by five points and is closing in on the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Atlantic Division standings. The Bruins, struggling after trade deadline departures, lost the season series to Ottawa (1-3).
Devils Rally to Beat Oilers 3-2
Jesper Bratt and Simon Nemec fueled a third-period comeback to give New Jersey their third straight win. Bratt has been on fire, posting two goals and four assists in his last two games, stepping up after Jack Hughes’ season-ending injury. Connor McDavid notched his 59th assist on Leon Draisaitl’s 47th goal, but the Oilers have now lost three of their last five games.
Flyers Snap Losing Streak, Beat Lightning in Shootout
Bobby Brink scored twice, while Cam Atkinson forced overtime. Matvei Michkov opened the shootout, but Brayden Point responded for Tampa Bay. Owen Tippett delivered the decisive goal, ending the Flyers' five-game skid.
