Nico Hulkenberg to race for Sauber and Audi in F1 from 2025

German driver Nico Hulkenberg has confirmed that he will be joining Sauber for the upcoming season before moving on to Audi under a multi-year contract. The Swiss-based Formula 1 team made the announcement on Friday.
Hulkenberg, who is currently with Haas, will be leaving the team as they have already announced his departure. There have been rumors linking him to Ferrari-backed Briton Oliver Bearman.
In 2026, Sauber will transition into the Audi factory team.
Hulkenberg expressed his excitement about the opportunity to race for Audi, stating, "The chance to compete for Audi is truly special. It's a unique opportunity when a German manufacturer enters Formula 1 with such determination."
He added, "Representing the factory team of a car brand with a power unit manufactured in Germany is a great honor for me."
