Nicolas Jarry becomes first Chilean to reach Masters 1000 final in 17 years

Nicolas Jarry secured the most significant victory of his career by defeating Tommy Paul in the Italian Open, advancing to his first ATP Masters 1000 final.
The Chilean, seeded 21st, is the first player from his country to reach a Masters 1000 final since Fernando Gonzalez in Rome in 2007. Following this triumph,
Jarry will ascend to 17th place in the world rankings. Jarry expressed his satisfaction with his performance, stating, "I think I played my best tennis. I gave it everything and went for it.
It's hard to keep that level of concentration, but now I'm in the final." Jarry's dominance was evident in his powerful display, which included 13 aces and 35 winners from the baseline, leading to his victory over Paul in two hours and 44 minutes.
Despite the challenges faced during the match, Jarry emphasized the importance of maintaining an aggressive approach, particularly in the third set.
Looking ahead to the final, Jarry will face Germany's Alexander Zverev on Sunday after defeating sixth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarter-finals.
