Novak Djokovic clinches 100th ATP singles title at Geneva Open

Novak Djokovic etched his name deeper into the sport’s history books by capturing his 100th career ATP singles title with a three-set victory over Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz in the final of the 2025 Geneva Open.
The Serbian superstar battled back from a set down to defeat Hurkacz 5-7, 7-6(2), 7-6(2) in a gripping contest. This milestone win ends Djokovic’s nine-month title drought since his 99th singles crown at the 2024 Paris Olympics, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. With the French Open just days away, the 24-time Grand Slam champion heads into Roland-Garros with renewed confidence and momentum as he aims for a fourth French Open title.
Djokovic joins Connors, Federer with Milestone
With his Geneva triumph, Djokovic becomes only the third male player in the Open Era to achieve 100 ATP singles titles—joining the legendary Jimmy Connors (109) and Roger Federer (103). The feat underscores Djokovic’s enduring dominance and places him firmly among the sport’s most decorated icons.
Speaking after his historic win, the World No. 1 expressed both relief and excitement:
“I had to work for it, that’s for sure. Hubi was probably closer to victory [in] the entire match than I was,” Djokovic said. “I had some chances in the first set to break his serve, then had a bad game which ended up with the double fault on set point.
“I was just trying to hang in there, I don’t know how I broke his serve. He probably broke himself in the third, when he was 4-3 up, but this is what happens at the highest level. Very few points decide the winner. Incredible match, 7-6 in the third with a full stadium, beautiful atmosphere. I’m just grateful to clinch the 100th here.”
All eyes on Roland-Garros as Djokovic eyes Grand Slam No. 25
Djokovic now turns his attention to the 2025 French Open, where he begins his campaign on Monday against American Mackenzie McDonald. With 24 Grand Slam titles already to his name, the Serbian maestro is aiming to make more history by extending his lead as the most successful men’s player in Grand Slam history.
