Novak Djokovic faces Olympics fitness battle after knee injury scare

The Serbian top seed triumphed over Stefanos Tsitsipas with a score of 6-3, 7-6(3), despite exacerbating a right knee injury that had necessitated surgery in June.
Djokovic required on-court medical attention after slipping on the baseline at Court Philippe Chatrier.
He found himself trailing 0-4 and later 2-5 in the second set but demonstrated remarkable resilience by saving three set points in the ninth game.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion, who is still in pursuit of his first Olympic gold medal, then dominated the tie-break, achieving his 12th victory in 14 encounters against the Greek player.
"I will need to consult with my medical team," Djokovic stated when questioned about his physical condition.
"It is fortunate that I was able to secure the win in straight sets and conclude the match. However, I experienced a similar situation after my fourth-round match at the French Open, only to find out later that I had torn my meniscus.
"I must assess the situation as it unfolds. I am uncertain about what to expect. It is a day-by-day process. I hope to be in good physical condition for tomorrow."
Djokovic is set to compete against Italy's Lorenzo Musetti on Friday for a chance to advance to the gold medal match.
